I believe that we need to communicate more openly and directly about aging and what our desires and wants are.
Hi, I’m Allison O’Shea, an author, speaker, and the founder of Openly Aging. With over 20 years of experience as an executive in senior living, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing countless aging journeys. Through these experiences, I realized a crucial gap in the services available to those navigating or supporting an aging journey: the need for one-time conversations with an expert. These conversations help individuals become aware of their options and provide education on how to make informed, fiscally responsible decisions that promote independence and health. As an Aging Advisor, I am passionate about advocating for my clients and guiding them to achieve their aging goals and desires. I believe that with the right support and information, everyone can take control of their aging journey and live life on their own terms. When I’m not helping individuals navigate their aging journey, I love spending time with my husband, Chris, and our two children, Jack, and Emily. You’ll often find us at sporting events or hosting friends and family in our home.

For years, I have witnessed firsthand the passion Allison has for helping older adults and their families. Her many years of experience have given her incredible knowledge as well as countless connections to resources! And even better, she truly cares about the people she is advocating for.
I was scheduled for therapy twice a week and my husband, who is 90 years old, was taking me. I wanted to find a way for him to not have to sit and wait two hours while I completed my therapy. Allison was able to guide me toward a transportation service specifically for seniors that has been wonderful! I would definitely recommend Allison to any of my friends that need to know the options out there.
